HELLO, songwriters and supporters. I am Tamera Jolley, your " hostess of imagination" for an inside view of SWSWA. My boyfriend is Jason Haugen, president of SWSWA and drummer for Bomb Sticky. Jason and I had a meeting on Feb 21 with SWSWA founder David Kidd and family at our newest location for SWSWA's 8th birthday celebration. SWSWA is building a world-class concert stage and entertainment complex. This location is 25 acres of solid rock for us to stand on while we rock in the new era revolution of music networking. For you people out there that don't know, the SWSWA is a network of independent musicians here to change the geographical face of music in this country. So join us in our building of music history.
Our first D.M. Kidd Arena #1 (five arenas are being planned to be built over the next five years) is being constructed this year. This amphitheater will have all amenities, parking lot, roads, bathrooms, and concessions. The stage will be 40' x 100' with backstage and loading area. Our land has recently been brush hogged and we are scheduled Mar. 4 to move dirt for our road. The wheels are already turning for plans to conduct music history. Join us!
Contractor's trailer is on site already. This location is about 15 minutes west of Lawton, OK. Our birthday celebration (SWSWA) has had many different locations such as Great Plains Coliseum, Women's Auxiliary, Bull Pen, and the Diamond Ballroom, but our very own concert forum promises new heights of quality and excellence for all parties involved, performers and audience.
We are calling all songwriters to join us and
let us help you showcase your music and your creative ideas to everyone no
matter what genre of music you play. You don't even need a full band. I will
keep you updated on the next "Tam Cam" on our progress for the ultimate
songwriter's resource (SWSWA).

AIRPLAY REVOLUTION AGAINST THE FCC
OBJECTIVE: To pursuade FCC to revise Payola
laws that prohibit Independent songwriters, artists and record labels to be
able to play their music on radio airwaves.
FCC must support Independent songmakers!
ARGUMENT:
Current
Payola laws are outdated and only serve the rich to monopolize the music
industry. Now, they are utilizing
Payola laws to maintain control of the music played on the air by use of money. Payola laws have been transformed to serve
only the rich and stifle the Independent songmakers. FCC is allowing unconstitutional practices by the rich to
suppress the freedom of music. Modern
technology (online music capabilities), now allow an avenue for Independent artists
to share their music with the entire world; therefore, Payola laws must change
their views that airplay should be restricted to the major music industry
corporates. THESE CHAINS MUST BE LIFTED
FROM THE INDEPENDENT ARTISTS OF AMERICA!
GAME
PLAN: recruit political advocates to
form representation to make vigorous presentation to FCC by means of
congress; recruit music representatives
including; lawyers, law students and politicians; create campaign committees and volunteers to do extensive
lobbying. Create an awareness of our
revolution; create huge advertisement campaign for SWSWA MUSIC REVOLUTION!
